5 months ago, my school received a invitation for mayflowerians to join Singapore's NDP 2007, on a performance on Broadless flight---Eagles' Will. The teachers-in-charge were all so delighted and can jump a million km into the sky when they accepted the invitation. This caused me and my friends and schoolmates to be chosen for this performance.
Seriously, we were all pretty shocked to know that we were chosen. Some of us were like, NO WE DON'T WANT THIS but our parents signed the form, too bad. The rest were delighted. :)
We went through thick and thin. We had more of sweat than tears in the practices. If i'm not wrong we must have went through like, about 50 rehearsals already. The chreographer made a lot of changes to the dance steps in the performance, and all of us were like, OMG, that's really a big mess, with some of us not going to rehearsals for different reasons (holidays overseas;fever;chalet[which the teacher did not accept...])
Yeah, so overall it was like, cool. This month we had all our rehearsals and performances there... the NE shows are all over and stuff. So this week it'll be the NDP preview, which i guess it's quite a feat for us to find our markings again... i did yesterday, and oh boy, were all of us delighted. :) The leader of our team didn't, though... haha, it's so fun. We're all jumping for joy.
Let's think about SINGAPORE on the whole now, and not on just the stupid performance my school's going to perform this August(I want to see the ballerinas' performance with Kit Chan, though). Nasi Lemak, Satay, "Durian" Explanade and... The singapore river, as well as all of us Native Singaporeans! :) And also Singlish, by the way. I bought a comic book about Singapore by George, and boy, is he COOL! He wrote and drew so many things about singapore, which was so like a reflection for us... anyway, i really agree with this sentence, "If Singaporeans stop talking singlish one day, i'd be totally lost!" Yes, this is what makes us truly SINGAPOREANS.
I'm not joking, but one day i'm gonna try eating roti prata with curry. So far i've still not managed to try on curry pernamently. I'm still a little on ketchup. Still a kiddo(that makes me think about my Primary school, haaaaz.)
Anyway, this was the inspiration i got from NDP 07 website, when they say "Singaporean(Our) voices" and got winners for handphones and stuff. I'm totally late but there's no harm writing this. And i deleted my old blog because it's already dead. No one visits it.
Yeah so that's it. I'm so gonna find a way to remove this stupid blogskin that this blogsopt gave me. I don't like it.
